THE Mayor of Yate has praised a group after they helped to further improve the look of Station Road after landscaping a raised flower bed.

Yate Community Plan, with support from Yate Town Council and funding from the South Gloucestershire Council, Safer and Stronger fund placed the triangular bed on the corner of Station Road and Cranleigh Court Road.

A landscape architect was commissioned and they carefully designed a low maintenance planting plan for the unusual shaped bed.

The aim of this project was to give a fresh and give the area more modern look.

Members’ of the Yate Community Plan Committee, Sylvia Eastwood and Sarah Collins were pleased it had been finished.

“It is good to see the recent renovation and planting at the Cranleigh Court and Station Road junction bringing together the overall planting of the area and giving a refreshing, tidy aspect to this busy junction,” they said.

Councillor Kart Tomasin, Mayor of Yate, commented:

“It’s good to see the raised bed has had a long overdue make over.

“I’m looking forward as many others are, to see how this grows over the coming years.”
