A Berkeley woman is fighting for her life in hospital after a crash on the A38 in this early hours of this morning (August 15).
Police were called to the A38 at Newport shortly before 1.30am after a report of a single-vehicle collision.
The crash involved a white Fiat Abarth convertible sports car which was travelling in the direction of Berkeley.
A woman in her fifties, the driver of the car, was taken to Southmead Hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed for about ten hours, near to the old Newport Towers hotel, to allow a collision investigation to take place but has since re-opened.
Officers investigating the crash would like to hear from anyone who may have information but has not already spoken to police.
Anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage should call Gloucestershire police on 101 quoting incident 32 of August 15.
