A group of travellers, that only set up in Yate on Wednesday night, have moved on.
A group of around eight caravans arrived in the car park at the Sunnyside Playing Fields late on Wednesday night.
However Yate Town Council served them notice to leave by 9:30am this morning and they have now started to leave the car park.
The social/bowls club at Sunnyside had a bowls tournament today, so a number of people have had to park on nearby roads after the caravans filled the spaces.
A member of the Yate Town Council estates team informed the Gazette that the police and the council had been excellent in making sure that the group were moved on quickly.
Some residents spoke to the Gazette and said that they had felt threatened by the group.
The council were informed of their arrival by residents after they were seen trying to access other areas in Yate.
