A TRADITIONAL show is returning to a South Gloucestershire village next month.

The 73rd Cromhall Flower Show & Village Fayre is taking place from 2-6pm on Saturday, September 7.

This year’s entertainment includes BollyRed Dance Company, Katharine Lady Berkeley’s Jazz Band, a dog show, Mr Brown Pig Woodland Puppet Show and ferret racing.

A range of competitions and activities for all ages will be available on the day including welly wanging, a bouncy castle, Tug of War, archery, a coconut shy, skittles and a football shot speed challenge.

There will also be a display of vintage cars, tractors and a steam engine.

Stalls will be selling local goods and a variety of produce will be on view in the show tent.

More than 600 exhibits are expected in categories such as home cooking, flowers and vegetables, and handicrafts.

There is even a new scarecrow category this year.

Refreshments, including a barbecue, and seating will also be available at the event on St Andrew’s School Field.

Last year's event saw record crowds of more than 600 people.
