A COFFEE shop in Cirencester has been given top marks after its latest food hygiene inspection – a huge improvement from the previous one-out-of-five grade.

The Coffee House, based in Elliot Road on the Love Lane Estate, has been awarded five stars following a recent review by Cotswold District Council food hygiene inspectors.

This is a major jump forward from the one rating The Coffee House was given in the ‘scores on the doors’ scheme after an inspection on May 10.

Explaining why they believe they were given a one back in May, a spokesman for The Coffee House said: “We did have the procedures in place but the paperwork was still in the processing stage at the time of their first inspection.

“This has now been all sorted and we are happy moving forward with the five stars awarded to us.”

The Coffee House, which opened in April, seats 100 customers and offers guests free wifi, charging sockets and a car park.
