Charfield is holding a Freshers' Fair to welcome new people moving to the village.
The event is being held at St John’s Church from 2-5pm on Saturday.
Local groups will have stalls there so visitors can find out what’s on offer.
There will be games and activities for children, plus free tea and cake and live music from local band God’s Grampies.
Rev’d Rick Williams said: “Because ‘community’ is one of the pillars of what the church stands for, we felt it would be good for the church to lead in welcoming new residents to the village.
"We all understand the new developments have not been welcomed by many in the village, but we feel it’s hugely important to separate that from the welcome we give to the actual people moving here.
"So the message is – you are very welcome in Charfield. We have a lively, vibrant village and we want you to feel welcome and to feel a part of it.”
