DURSLEY struck gold for the fourth year running at the Heart of England in Bloom Awards.

On Thursday, Dursley in Bloom volunteers Carol Wilson, Maggie Butterfield and Pauline Champion, and clerk to Dursley Town Council, John Kay made the journey up to Rugby for the RHS Heart Of England In Bloom awards.

Once again the Dursley in Bloom team were delighted to receive a gold award for all their efforts.

Chairperson Penny Hyde, who was not able to attend the ceremony, said: "We in team Dursley in Bloom are so pleased to have achieved gold again.

"Thank you to all who help us with donations and general support as we do our best to make our town look attractive for all.”

This year the Dursley in Bloom volunteers worked alongside Dursley Town Council, with many other local organisations lending a hand too.

There have been projects by Rednock and Dursley C of E Primary School, Dursley Scouts, Dursley library and St James’ church.

There were also special contributions from Henlow Court, Champions Court, Tabernacle URC church and Chantry Community Garden.

In addition, many local businesses and groups contributed financially.
