A MALMESBURY based manufacturer has been honoured with a Queen’s Award for expanding exports.

Alvan Blanch welcomed Mrs Sarah Troughton, the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire, to a celebratory reception.

It is the third time that the manufacturer has been honoured with the award, previously winning it in 2005 and 2012.

When the company was first presented with the ‘International Trade – Outstanding Achievement’ award, exports were at £3million, now that number has grown to £12 million.

Andrew Blanch, managing director, gave a speech highlighting the fact that exports, and the variety that comes with them, have allowed the company to achieve new levels of growth.

Blanch also commented on the investment programme that has taken place across the Malmesbury factory, and that putting the profits back in to the business has also been a large key to the success of Alvan Blanch- describing it as a “remarkable chapter” for the business.

Mr Blanch concluded his speech by reiterating the message that “every single person in the company is responsible for this achievement, because we all played a part in it”

Mrs Troughton congratulated everyone for their outstanding achievement in winning the award three times, saying that it was “a pleasure” to be back at Alvan Blanch and that it was rare for a company to win it twice let alone three times.

The Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire added that the award represents a fantastic achievement for Wiltshire.

All employees pulled together to create the shape of the company logo – a wonderful way to round off the evening.
