WOTTON-under-Edge Blues Festival returns this week with three days of free music in the town.

The fourth annual event will see live bands playing at six venues in and around town on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Buskers will be performing throughout the weekend and there will blues workshops too.

Guitarists can hone their lead soloing skills at the Blues Licks & Tricks event at UTEA on Saturday. Plus there's sessions in harmonica and slide guitar. Email workshops@wottonbluesfest.org to book a place.

Headlining this year is Sari Schorr, who is performing at the town hall on Saturday night.

Sari grew up up listening to Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holliday and says as she got older Big Mama Thorton was a big influence on her.

In 2015 producer Mike Vernon (Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall) was so impressed by her voice and on-stage presence that he offered to come out of retirement and produce her debut album.

A recent review in Living Blues magazine compared Sari to Janis Joplin.

Although entry to Sari's gig is free, it is a ticketed event. For festival details and to book tickets visit: wottonbluesfest.org
