Dozens of Thornbury residents came together to protest against the lack of action over climate change in South Gloucestershire.

The protest took place on Friday morning, with around 30 people congregating on Thornbury High Street with banners and signs.

It started at 10am and slowly gathered momentum during the next hour, with more and more people joining the campaigners.

The event was organised by Danny Bonnett, chairman of Sustainable Thornbury, and he was delighted to see so many people come out and show their support for the 'important message'.

"It is brilliant that so many people have come out to join us," he said.

"I was worried that I would be here on my own but it is great to have such a big group of people that all believe in the same thing."
