CHAPEL members invited the local community to help them celebrate their anniversary on Saturday with a barbecue, drinks, music and stalls.
The Welsh End Primitive Methodist Chapel near Whixall was celebrating 160 years with a fundraiser for the Ark homeless charity in Shrewsbury.
Those attending included Mary Birch, 94, who has played the chapel organ for 79 years, as recorded in the Whitchurch Herald in September 1940, until recently fracturing her hip.
Sunday's anniversary sermon was given by the Revd Dr John Tomlinson, from Sheffield, whose grandparents were active at Welsh End Chapel.
