Could Yate be getting an Aldi in the future?
It could be happening if a document released by Aldi is anything to go by.
The supermarket chain has announced that it plans to open one store in the UK every single week until 2021.
There are currently stores in Thornbury, Stroud and Bradley Stoke.
The chain aims to open a number of new stores and they revealed where these new shops could be.
Yate made it on to the list, along with Weston-super-Mare and Bristol.
Now, South Gloucestershire Council have said that the 'appropriate facilities are needed in the ever-growing area'
A spokesperson for South Gloucestershire Council said: “We are committed to creating stronger and safer communities and it is important that we have the appropriate facilities in place to support new housing and ensure South Gloucestershire remains a great place to live and work.
"Any planning applications we receive are assessed through the appropriate planning process.”
