A QUIZ night has raised nearly £1,000 for the Castle School.

The event took place on September 20 with proceeds going to the Castle School Friends.

Around 25 teams took part with Natasha Harrod, Helen Dee, Paul Harrod and Jon Dee from Olveston coming out on top and taking home £80 in vouchers for Prezzo.

Castle School teacher Sophie Gammon won the bumper raffle hamper while the best team name was ‘Victorious Secrets’, and members of that team received vouchers for fish and chips for four people.

Castle School Friends committee member Caroline Brewser said: “Both the quiz nights that we’ve organised in 2019 have been very successful.

“It is great that people are able to support The Castle School while clearly really enjoying themselves.

“We thank all our supporters for their generosity and look forward to more events in the future!”

Another quiz is planned for next year while a Christmas Market will take place from 2-4pm on November 30.

The Christmas wreath-making workshops, led by local florist Rachel Austin, have already sold out.

Further details about the work being done by the group is available at castleschoolfriends.org and enquiries@castleschoolfriends.org.
