POLICE arrested a man after a car ploughed into a lamppost in Bournemouth late last night.
Officers and paramedics were called to Poole Road, between Bournemouth and Westbourne, shortly before 11.30pm.
One person suffered minor injuries in the crash, which happened close to the zebra crossings by the Poole Road Medical Centre.
A spokesperson from Dorset Police said: "We were called to a single-vehicle collision close to the St Michael's Roundabout.
"A VW Polo had gone into a lamppost.
"One of the occupants of the car suffered minor injuries. Another person was detained at the scene on suspicion of driving offences.
"The local authority and electricity company were also called out to make the scene safe."
