A CONCERT held in Yate last month has raised more than £1,000 for charity.

The Yate and Chipping Sodbury Good Afternoon Choir and their guests Apollo Wind Band performed in St Mary’s Church on September 28.

They raised £1172 for Children’s Hospice South West in the process.

Sian Walters, musical director of the choir, and Frances Kineally, a representative of the Hospice, wanted to thank those who attended the concert for giving so generously.

The choir are now preparing for their carol concert which will be held on December 11 at St Mary’s Church Yate at 2pm.

The choir rehearse at the church from 2-4pm on Wednesdays. Anyone is welcome to join without an audition.
