A Cotswolds pub has again been given the worst possible food hygiene rating by inspectors.
The Crown Inn, in Cerney Wick, was given a zero rating – which means ‘urgent improvement necessary’ – by Cotswold District Council in a report published following an inspection on July 2.
It was given the same rating at the previous inspection in January.
The report stated major improvement was necessary with food handling and the management of food safety. Improvement was also required with regard to the cleanliness and condition of facilities.
The Food Standards Agency website also shows two other businesses in the Cotswolds currently have ratings of one. These are AJ Whiddett Bakery in Dollar Street, Cirencester, and Maharaja Restaurant in Chipping Campden.
Meanwhile, The Coffee House in Cirencester now has a maximum hygiene rating of five following an inspection in August. It previously had a rating of one.
