The October half term Yate Scarecrow Trail is back for another year!

The event, which was started last year, will see 48 scarecrows hidden all around the Yate area with the theme of different children's tv characters.

The scarecrows are made by children at Yate school St Mary's and other local businesses.

The trail will be taking place between October 26 and November 3.

Organisers of the event, the Friends of St Mary's School said: "Children and local businesses have been very busy in the last few weeks and are now putting the finishing touches to their scarecrows which go on display from 26th Oct- 3rd Nov.

"The Scarecrow trail starts this Saturday and the team will be at Yate shopping Centre to launch the event with some fun and games.

"This year there is an addition of a QR code at each of the scarecrows so you can see either a clip or the theme tune of your favourite children’s TV Characters, past and present.

"There is the Golden Scarecrow again this year and Sneaky Sooty will be hiding along the trail at different points on different days to be spotted.

"Please use the QR code on the map during the week to vote for your favourite scarecrow.

"The winner will be announced at the Scarecrow Showcase, when all the scarecrows come together at St Mary’s School on 9th November, everyone is welcome.

"If you would like to take part the maps are on sale in Costa Coffee and The Vintage Birdcage Cakery for only £2. All proceeds go to St Mary’s School Yate."
