Two men have been ordered to pay a combined total of nearly £1000 in court after admitting to assaulting a man in a Thornbury pub.

Rory Groves of Knapp Road and Louis Henderson of Eastbury Close, both 24, pleaded guilty to the charge at Bristol Magistrates' Court on October 25.

The incident took place on June 15 this year at The Malthouse.

Both were fined £250 and ordered to pay a Victim Surcharge of £85 and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

The total being £420 each.

Henderson was given an electronic tag until December 5 with a curfew between 6pm and 6am.

Both men were also ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.
