A Yate drug dealer has been jailed after cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis worth £90,000 was found at his home.

Sean Mortell, 39, of Milton Road, pleaded guilty at Bristol Crown Court on Monday to three offences of possession with intent to supply drugs as well as possession of criminal property.

He has been sentenced to five years and four months in prison.

When officers from the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit carried out a warrant in October they found 500g of cocaine behind a kickboard in the kitchen, £3,500 cash stashed in cupboards, and 2kg of cannabis bush in his van. They also discovered keys to a lock-up on Mays Hill where 500g of ecstasy was later found.

Detective Inspector Charlotte Tucker said: “Sean Mortell was clearly making big profits, with drugs worth around £90,000 on the street as well as £3,500 cash seized in one warrant.

“His sentence will hopefully be welcomed by people in Yate and serve as another example of the work going on to ensure the likes of Mortell are caught.”
