An 18-year-old was arrested after an apparent altercation near Wetherspoons in Yate.
The incident took place on Saturday evening at around 7.45pm, with police being called to the area.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called to reports of a disturbance in the North Walk area of Yate at about 7.45pm on Saturday (9 November).
"A car driver reported that he had been threatened and a wing mirror had been kicked off his vehicle.
"Shortly after a man aged 18 was arrested on suspicion of assault. He was later released without charge."
There were reports that police used a taser on an individual, however officers have revealed they are not true.
