A NEW group is offering environmental advice to businesses in Gloucestershire to help them achieve greener growth.

Gloucestershire Green Circle are aiming to provide the county’s corporate world with practical advice, up-to-date information and support on green issues.

Two of the group's three organisers live and work in Stroud, and they have monthly meetings to look at a particular environmental issue with an expert speaker.

The speaker will offer the latest up-to-date information, an informative workshop helping attendees plan how to tackle the issue back at work, and there are also networking opportunities so everyone at the meeting has time to talk to each other and find new clients.

The aim of the meetings is to bring together companies that want to be greener with those which already are so they can swop ideas and tips, share problems and spark ideas.

The meetings also welcome businesses already producing greener products and services so they can offer solutions to other companies and find new customers.

The next meeting is on Thursday November 21, and will run from 9am to 11.30am.

It will take a closer look at energy and how the energy market works, how to buy green energy and how to use less energy.

Severn Wye Energy Agency will be running the workshop to get companies thinking about some of the many energy efficiency measures they could introduce, and Kath Chapman, MD of Ameresco, one of the UK’s largest provider of energy services, will be giving an insight into how the energy market works and explaining how to avoid the pitfalls and greenwash when buying green energy.

The meeting is being hosted by Sanctus Ltd at their offices in Quedgeley.
