A BARBER from Yate has opened his very own shop on North Road.

Richard Cole, 30, made the decision to start his own business, Coley’s Barber Shop, in the premises vacated by the old North Road Post Office earlier this year.

He held an official opening event at the shop last month on Wednesday, October 9.

“The opening went really well, it was a nice evening,” Richard said.

“The support from North Road has also been really good, people seem really happy to have something like this close to where they live.

“A lot of people have said how happy they are we have opened.

“I have been a barber for about 15 years so a lot of my clients have come with me which is good.

“Jenna has been really helpful as well so we are looking forward to the future.”

Landlady of the Codrington Arms, adjacent to the new shop, Jenna Hale revealed her delight that the building was being put to good use.

“I am really excited for Richard and extremely proud to be able to support this new, young business,” she said.

“New small businesses are such an important part of our community and something I am very passionate about.

“That is why I am really happy to be able to support Richard in his new venture.

“A barber shop is a fantastic use of the former Post Office, now we have the mobile service. It will be a great asset to North Road.”
