Stroud's parliamentary candidates attended the Register to Vote event at the Stroud Brewery on Thursday evening.
BBC Points West attended and interviewed Labour candidate David Drew, Conservative candidate Siobhan Baillie and Green Party candidate Molly Scott Cato.
Register to Vote Stroud were on hand at the event to help new voters to register.
Free special beer was also handed out at the Brewery to those who registered to vote.
Beer including X appeal and Ballot Box Beer was given to customers who provided bar staff with evidence that they had registered to vote.
The event was also followed by a fundraising Bingo evening for Stroud District Foodbank.
