A NEW pop-up restaurant is opening at the location of the old bar and bistro No 23 in Stroud town centre.

Nelson Street Kitchen opened on Saturday evening ahead of yesterday’s roast dinner service.

The pop-up is being held by private chef Rowan Hinder and will be open on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, as well as Sunday daytime for roast dinners until January 2020.

Rowan held a pop-up for two evenings at Birch restaurant earlier this month, and after the success of the event, he is now taking it one step further.

He said: “My aim for the restaurant is to provide a humble environment that serves good food which is cooked properly and food that people want to eat.

“Our upstairs space is being transformed into a private dining room for Christmas parties and other functions.”

The menu can be viewed by emailing nelsonstreetkitchen@gmail.com or by viewing the Facebook page which is still under the page name ‘No 23’.
