CROWDS packed into a church for Rhyl's annual Christmas Pops concert.

Audiences rocked in the aisles at St Thomas’ Church as headline act the American Four Tops Show performed a medley of motown classics.

The free concert also featured Denbighshire Music Cooperative Youth Brass Band, Ysgol Emmanuel School Choir and vocalist Matthew Roberts.

A spokesman for Denbighshire County Council said: “We are delighted with the success of this year’s Christmas Pops concert and yet again crowds took the opportunity to take advantage of the free tickets.

"The Council was delighted to be working with Rhyl Town Council to put on this annual event, which has long established itself as a festive favourite in the run up to the Christmas season.

"We had people rocking in the aisles and all the participants put on a real show that got people into the festive spirit. The reaction from the audience was great to see.

"It’s a great platform for local and established performing talents and this year’s show certainly did not disappoint."

The American Four Tops have appeared alongside original soul and Motown legends such as the Stylistics, the Three Degrees, Martha Reeves, the Temptations and the Drifters.
