THE Dursley Area Youth Sinfonia delighted a large audience with their winter concert.
The performance took place at Dursley Tab Church on December 7 at 7.30pm, with the ensemble led by Chris Wiggins.
The repertoire featured a combination of orchestral works and instrumental and vocal solo performances.
The evening began with a presentation from Rednock sixth form student, Annie-May Pritchard, who spoke about her up-coming conservation trip with Operation Wallacea, to Malawi in July 2020.
The proceeds from the concert, after expenses, were very kindly donated to Annie-May towards her fundraising target of £2,500 by Dursley Tabernacle and Dursley Area Youth Sinfonia. These amounted to £500.
A spokesman for Dursley Tab Church said: “It was a great community occasion, a real celebration of our local young people’s talents.
“We look forward to the next Dursley Area Youth Sinfonia concert in March 2020.”
