Huge traffic built up on the M4 yesterday evening after a car travelling on the westbound carriageway burst in to flames.
Emergency services were called at around 8pm with one lane initially being closed.
This was then extended to two lanes shortly after.
The fire caused huge tailbacks on the carriageway between J18 for the A46 and Bath and J19 for the M32.
Yate Fire Station's on call teams attended the incident, using breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet supplied with foam to extinguish the fire.
