Police have reportedly raided a flat in Gloucestershire after a for sale advert on the property appeared to show an assault rifle on the wall - in fact it was a paintball gun.

A top floor apartment in Wotton-under-Edge was on the market for £90,000 but officers were alerted when photos showed a rifle hanging in some of the preview photos.

The photos showed a M4 Carbine assault rifle above the flat's main living area window.

A concerned house-hunter flagged the firearms fear to police who quickly visited the address at the Old Bakehouse in Long Street, in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire.

Gloucestershire Police reacted to the alert and visited the flat where it was determined that the ‘gun‘ was a gas-powered paintball replica of an M4 Carbine assault rifle.

The estate agent has now replaced the photos on their website with different ones that does not include the gun.

The agent has said it has no comment on the incident.
