The Co-op will take over the running of Thornbury Post Office next week.
The Post Office is already based in the shop on Thornbury High Street, who will now take ownership of it from Monday.
A Post Office spokesperson, said: “Thornbury Post Office is soon to be under new ownership and it will be operated by the Co-op Group Food Ltd, which already owns the store where the Post Office is based.
“The Post Office will be temporarily closed on Monday, January 27 whilst the transfer takes place from a temporary Postmaster.
"Alternative Post Offices include Alveston and Olveston.”
Plans to move the Post Office to a stand-alone base in the St Mary Centre fell through in 2017.
