LOOSE Plastic Free in Stroud has launched a new zero waste Cannabidiol product.

The shop offers unpackaged food as well as a selection of household and personal care items, with the minimum amount of packaging possible.

Now the shop, based in Lansdown, Stroud, will be stocking the oil, which can be used to treat a variety of aliments, such as neuropathic pain, inflammation, depression, anxiety and insomnia.

Many top athletes use Cannabidol (CBD) to improve their performance and recovery.

After a friend recommended CBD and she saw the wonderfully positive effect it had on her father’s health and well being, Kate Appleby set up Stroud’s CBD to spread the word about this totally natural product.

Loose customers already include the Gloucestershire MS Society and everyone from athletes to chefs wanting to use the products in their recipes.

Kate said: “I’m so proud to be starting a local business that can help people from the Five Valleys and beyond feel better and finally get relief from problems and symptoms that may have been causing them discomfort for years.

“Scientific research into CBD shows it works in harmony with our bodies and how helpful it can be to living a healthy, happy life.

“I work for a well respected CBD wholesaler and I wanted the people of Stroud to be able access very high quality, organically grown products at a price they can afford.

“It’s even better that we are launching the world’s first Zero Waste CBD product at the Loose shop in Stroud.

“They share our sustainable values and will refill bottles from any brand.”

CBD is completely legal and intensive human studies have shown no unwanted side effects.

“The World Health Authority says it really is completely safe and positive results can normally be seen very quickly,” said Kate.

“Most high street products are operating in a grey area legally as the law states that only 1mg of THC is permissible per container but products can contain 0.2% or more.

“The legality of this is a myth: 0.2%

“THC is permitted in a product is only for the licensed import and export of raw materials.

“It’s very important to see lab test results and make sure your product has a legal amount of THC like Stroud’s CBD as you could fail a police or workplace drug test if it is not.

“Lab results also show you the product is as advertised.”

Stroud artist Freya Tate has been using the product.

She said: “I have struggled with severe RSI since graduating from university studying music three years ago.

“This consists mainly of chronic hand and shoulder pain, for a while this left it difficult to do simple tasks like washing up and meant I could only play piano for very short periods of time.

“Since taking Stroud’s CBD oil regularly it has reduced the pain in my shoulder significantly!

“Whereas painkillers seem to just numb the area when I could still feel a lot of tightness in the muscles Stroud’s CBD make the whole body feel more relaxed.

“It also helps with some of the anxiety surrounding the pain which can be a huge factor.”
