A lady from Yate has warned residents to be vigilant after her car was targeted by thieves in the night.

Sarah Summerill lives near Brimsham Park and woke up in the morning to find that both her and her husband's cars had been raided.

Sarah's CCTV shows a man breaking in to the cars and searching for valuable items.

The incident took place at around 2am on Saturday, January 25.

Sarah posted the video on Facebook, saying: "To the poor Parents, family members, neighbours, friends or partners of this individual I would just like to let you all know what he and 2 of his friends were getting up to at 1.59am this Saturday morning," she said.

"These low lives decided it was ok to break into cars In Brimsham Park.

"He went through my husbands car and through mine, ransacked my child’s personal belongings along with some of our neighbours.

"These guys all had torches, so if you know who they might be, or have CCTV in the Brimsham Park Area of Yate Early hours Saturday morning please feel free to private message me so a can pass details onto the police along with my full HD footage of this video."

Sarah revealed that he was only able to steal a limited amount of cash from the cars.

The post gathered a large amount of interest on social media with a number of other residents revealing that they had been targeted similar raids earlier that week or in the days following.

Police have been informed about the incident and residents are encouraging any others to come forward.
