THE BBC has set up shop at the GL11 Community Hub in Cam for two weeks.

Chris Sandys, a community producer at BBC radio Gloucestershire, opened a temporary studio at the centre on Monday, where he is inviting residents to come in and share their stories.

He is also going out and about in the community to meet people and hear their stories, and he’ll be joined by other BBC colleagues during the time.

This morning (Friday), Chris is broadcasting live from Dursley town centre.

He'll be at the Market House until 12pm and is inviting everyone to come along and say hello.

And on Wednesday, February 5, BBC Radio Gloucestershire host Dominic Cotter will be presenting his afternoon show live from GL11, from 12pm to 3pm.

Recordings from Chris's sessions that are now available include: The husband and wife separated by the sea; Turning a burger van dream into a cafe reality; Taking a gap year at the age of 50; The traveller who died twice.

Chris is also running several community workshops, which are open to everyone.

On Thursday, February 6, there is a Listen to Our Legacy session for seniors.

Running from 11am to 12pm, older members of the community are invited to come in and share their memories of the area.

On Saturday, from 11am to 1pm, there is a Films & Photos on Your Phone workshop.

Everyone is welcome to come along and learn something new about bringing their photos/video to life with a smartphone. Booking is required.

And on Tuesday, February 4, from 4pm to 5pm, Chris is hosting a session entitled Engaging Conversations.

Chris says: "Good conversations can deepen relationships and teach you something new about the person you’re with."

The group will be discussing ways to achieve this.
