Gloucestershire is to be hit by Storm Ciara this weekend as winds between 50pmh and 62mph are expected to sweep the county.

A yellow weather warning from the Met Office is in place throughout the UK for Saturday and Sunday.

Wind gusts will start to build on Saturday night and are expected to peak on Sunday.

The warning is in place from 6pm on Saturday to 11.59pm on Sunday.

From 12pm to 6pm on Sunday, Stroud and Cirencester could to be hit by winds of up to 57mph, with gusts of 62mph potentially reaching the Cotswolds.

57mph winds are also expected to reach Cam and Dursley at midday on Sunday.
