Police swarmed on a house in Yate earlier today as officers seized a number of weapons.
A heavy police presence was reported in Moordell Close, Yate earlier today with a number of checks being carried out by officers.
They reported that two police vans and around 10 officers were seen at a property on the road.
They said that police arrived at around 7am in the morning and were there until 2pm this afternoon.
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "Officers carried out an intelligence-led warrant at a property in Moordell Close, Yate, this morning (Wednesday 12 February).
“A number of weapons have been seized from the property to check whether they are being held legally.
“We’d like to reassure residents that there’s no wider risk to the public.
“Enquiries are ongoing and we’re due to speak to a man on a voluntary basis at a later date.”
