DRIVERS are being warned not to try to drive through flooded roads after police received a number of reports of cars getting stuck in floods this morning.
Gloucestershire Constabulary say they have received numerous calls reporting of cars getting stuck in flood water across Gloucestershire, including some where drivers have ignored road closure signs.
A spokesman for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "Drivers are reminded that road closures are put in place for their benefit and safety and they should find an alternative route, even if it means being late for work.
"Do not take risks - if the road looks impassable don't try to get through.
"And if you can drive through the water do so slowly - not just for the benefit of your car but for the sake of people living in low lying properties who are at risk of being flooded by displaced water."
