A NEW website from a Bradford NHS Trust has won an award just months after it launched.

The "Better lives, healthy futures" online platform received recognition at the "Health Tech Newspaper's People and Partnership Awards 2020".

It won the "Bright Idea and Innovation" award.

The site was set up in November 2019 by the Family Health services team at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

It offers reliable, helpful NHS information and advice for expectant parents and local families caring for babies or small children.

The first phase of the site focuses on the 0-4 age group.

Topics include: caring for a crying baby, a baby's development, feeding, mental health, immunisations, safe sleep and oral health.

The Trust says the site has been well received and content is now being developed for the 5-11, 12-15 and 16-19 age groups.

Alex Horsfall, Service Manager, said: "Our Health Visiting team is there to offer support and informed advice from when you are pregnant until your child starts school.

"The great thing is the website is available 24/7, even in the middle of the night if you’re up with a crying baby or needing advice on sleep or feeding or teething.

"Creating the site was a real team effort with our health visitors and clinical leads bringing together the best local and national information so families know there is a single place of reference they can trust.

"Winning the award is great recognition for everyone involved.

"Even more important is knowing that we're making a positive difference for local families."
