EDINGTON Arts will present its first concert of 2020 and its first Cello/Piano Duo next month.

Brothers Jun (pianist) and Yuuki (cellist) Bouterey-Ishido, from New Zealand, will perform in Edington Priory Church on Saturday, March 21 from 2.30pm to 4pm.The duo are now based mainly in London and perform all over the world in prestigious concert halls and at international festivals.

Both are multiple prize winners and have played together from childhood creating a special understanding of each other’s musicality that produces memorable performances.

This is the latest to show the extraordinary musical talent being developed at the International Musicians Seminars that take place annually at Prussia Cove in Cornwall. (www.i-m-s.org.uk)

Having taken part in the 2019 masterclasses at Prussia Cove under cellist Steven Isserlis and pianist/composer Thomas Adès with the benefit of an Edington Arts bursary donation, the Bouterey-Ishido brothers will perform in Edington to ‘repay the favour’.

The concert, which will end around 4pm, will include two Cello Sonatas, one by Beethoven and the other by Fauré; a fiery Chopin Polonaise, and a lovely little piece by Bartok.Full programme information is up on the Edington Arts website, www.edingtonarts.org.

There will be a chance to chat to the brothers afterwards over tea and home-made cakes before they head back to London.
