Hundreds of runners braved the conditions as they all came together to complete a 5km and celebrate Chipping Sodbury parkrun’s 6th birthday.

The event has been taking place in the town since 2014 and has been growing in popularity year on year.

There was a special cake made for the occasion and it featured a number of different statistics that runners at Sodbury have helped to achieve.

Throughout the six years 10,900 runners have taken part in the Sodbury parkrun with a combined total of 429,970km being ran on the course.

399 runners took part in the 5km course at The Ridings Playing Fields, with Reuben Keating coming home in first place with a time of 17.43.

There was an unfortunate injury for one of the runners after he slipped bending down to pick up a hat of another runner after it was blown off by the wind.

The marshals and volunteers did well and helped encourage the runners around on what was a lovely day.
