POLICE are seeking a woman wearing nurse uniform who failed to stop after accident near to Cribbs Causeway.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We are repeating our appeal for witnesses to a fail to stop collision on the M5 near to Cribbs Causeway.

"The incident happened between J18-17 Avonmouth and Cribbs Causeway on the northbound carriageway at about 5.20pm on 14 February.

"Initially, the female driver of a vehicle stopped on the hard shoulder but then left the scene.

"The casualty in the other car – a pregnant woman with young children – required emergency medical treatment and is now recovering at home.

"We are treating the matter as a fail to stop incident."

The driver of the car, which left the scene, is described as a white woman, in her late 30s with dark hair, worn in a ponytail. She was wearing glasses. She was also wearing a navy coloured nurses or carer’s uniform with white elbow stripes (see image).

It is thought she was wearing a white t-shirt underneath.

The spokesman added: "We believe the motorway was quite busy at the time of the incident and are keen to speak to anyone who was driving along that section of the motorway at the time of the incident.

"We would also like anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the incident or knows the driver of the vehicle which left the scene and is believed to have significant front end damage.
