GLOUCESTERSHIRE Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed that a patient has died from Coronavirus.

The patient was in their 80s and had underlying health conditions.

Deborah Lee, chief executive of the trust, said: “Sadly, we can confirm that a man who had been cared for at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital died at the hospital on Wednesday (25th March 2020) has tested positive for COVID-19.

“The patient was 85 and had underlying health conditions.

“His family have been informed about the cause of death and are following national guidance.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.

"Out of respect for their privacy, we will not be commenting further.”
