EIGHT-year-old Jacob Watkins from Frampton on Severn couldn't believe his eyes when a tanker decorated with his artwork pulled up in front of his home this week.

He had forgotten all about a competition he entered last year, which involved creating a design to go on the side of a fuel tanker.

The competition was run by JOE Energy, a home heating oil, agricultural fuels and commercial fuels delivery company, which has a depot in Frampton.

The company put the call out for children to send in their entries last July.

“Months later I had a phone call to say that Jacob had won," said Jacob’s mum Lottie.

“The plan was to take the tanker to the school to surprise him.

“Then of course the school closed due to this virus.

“But then on Monday the tanker passed our house to deliver to our neighbour.

“Luckily I spotted it and decided now was the time to show Jacob and break this amazing news to him.

“Admittedly it was not quite the way we had planned it, but it was but the best we could do right now.

“I called him out to the garden where we could see it.

“When he came outside he asked why I wanted him.

"I said ‘look at that, that’s your design, you won.’

“And his mouth fell open in shock.”

Well done to Jacob for the fabulous design.
