THE Vintage Birdcage cakery is offering a soup delivery service to aid those most vulnerable and self isolating.
Nicole Jones, owner of The Vintage Birdcage Cakery set up the initiative with local greengrocer Jimmy Deanes Fruit and Veg to offer a service, making and delivering free soup to those in need.
They are now feeding over two-hundred-and-fifty vulnerable and elderly residents of Yate and Chipping Sodbury every day.
Nicole said:
“ I started this as I want to help as much as I possibly can. Myself and six family members have been working around the clock as the orders just keep coming. But we will feed every one who calls us. The people we are delivering to are so grateful, they are sometimes in tears when we drop off the soup parcels”
“i have six family members all working seven days a week., But this service is only going to grow bigger and I think the big supermarkets should help us out.”
“We now have help making the soup from another local chef.”
Yate Tesco Extra and Morrisons have since offered to help by donating produce and members of the public have stepped in to help with deliveries
Nicole added: “Please call us on 07538 830446 if you could use the service”
