Members of Dursley Rugby Club are taking part in a head shave challenge to raise funds for the NHS.

The squad are taking part in the the 'Head Shave Challenge' to show support for the healthcare staff who are hard at work battling the coronavirus.

Club captain Chris Perrett said: "We were passed on the idea for the fundraiser by Thornbury Rugby Club, and could not turn down such a fantastic opportunity to do our bit in the national effort to support the NHS during this difficult time.

"From the whole of Dursley RFC, we cannot thank the NHS enough for their continued enormous effort and hope that we can help by taking on this challenge."

So far 12 members of the senior team have already taken part in the challenge, and Chris said another 10 members of the club will have completed the challenge by the end of the day.

The club has almost reached its initial target of £1000, but are hoping to raise as much as possible for NHS Charities Together, a collective that supports the work of official NHS charities.
