A SCARECROW has vanished from Wotton under Edge, leaving just his boots behind.
Known as 'Allotment Alan', the friendly looking chap had been sitting on the bench by New Road allotments below Chipping Surgery for nearly four weeks before his disappearance on Wednesday night.
Alan formed part of the Wotton Scarecrow Wanderland.
"If anyone has seen or heard of the whereabouts of Allotment Alan please get in touch," said Ros Lang, chair of Blue Coat Primary School PTA, who organised the trail.
Originally members of the Blue Coat Primary School PTA had planned a scarecrow trail as a way of promoting their May fair.
“Of course the fair had to be cancelled,” said Ros.
“But we thought the scarecrows could continue to celebrate the glorious return of the sun and give us all something to feel joyful about.”
The PTA joined forces with Wotton Window Wanderland and the Wotton Scarecrow Wanderland was created.
