A mother from Yate has had her first collection of children's poetry published.

Tanya Squire wrote 'A Pocket Full of Fairy Tales' whilst on holiday with her children. The children's book, based on poetic fantasy tales, has now been published and is available to buy.

The book is a series of five poetic tales for all those who like imagination and fantasy.

Author, Tanya, said:

"I am determined and prefer a life of fantasy than the hardships of reality this where my book comes in. I always had a huge imagination but putting it on paper was another matter.

I was writing the book for my children and never once thought of publishing it, but I was truly blessed to have a wonderful friend who helped me pluck up the courage and shown me how she published her book.

"I have never written a book before, but I would love to put a smile on someone's face during the lockdown.

"I would like to spread joy to children who are stuck in isolation. From experience I understand depression can start at a young age and although it is difficult for many sometimes we forget how well our children have adapted through this change.

"I would like them to feel what its like to be on an adventure whilst stuck at home and disappear into a fantasy world."
