INTERESTING photos of Dursley and Cam are wanted for next year’s calendar.

Dursley Town Trust is asking for photos of the area to be donated for their 2021 edition - to raise funds to keep Dursley Town Hall in good repair.

“You could see your photo on the front cover of the 2021 calendar or illustrating any month,” said trust representative, Mike Doughty.

“We had some excellent photos sent to us for last year’s calendar and we want to make the next one just as good.

“We need photos showing different parts of Dursley and Cam and the surrounding area, ideally to illustrate the area through the seasons and at Christmas.

“As you can imagine, a lot of people take great photos of the beautiful area we live in - the challenge can be to come up with local scenes with a bit of a difference for each month of the new calendar.”

Individuals are asked to send in their photos for the trust to choose from.

“We also welcome photos from local organisations which might have photos showing their activities being carried out locally,” said Mike.

“Apart from the front cover, which usually features the town hall area, photos need to be orientated landscape rather than portrait.”

Mike asks people to be aware that the trust cannot guarantee to use every photo it receives, as only 13 or 14 photos are needed.

Please send photos to Hilary Fowles at hilaryfowles@yahoo.com by June 5.

“Selling calendars is our biggest annual fund raiser,” said Mike.

“The proceeds are vital to help us keep the Town Hall in good repair.

“It’s an expensive building to maintain and decorate but it’s a very important building for the town.

“Sadly the trust is finding that our expenditure is starting to exceed our income - even more so now, because like many other organisations we are losing income due to the lockdown.

“We’re hoping that local people will support us by donating photos and buying calendars to keep our town hall properly looked after.”
