Youngsters have had the green light to return to football training, with strict social distance measures in place.

Yate United FC are among the clubs welcoming back their footballers, as lockdown continues to ease.

Coaches are able to complete training sessions following guidelines that groups of up to 6 can meet in outside spaces.

Parents have been given a list of guidelines for the players so they can safely return to their weekly training.

All children have to have their temperature taken before training sessions. Additionally players must wash their hands for 20 seconds, use their own drinks bottles and kits and refrain from touching the balls with their hands, as much as possible.

Parents have been instructed to stay at all training sessions in case first aid has to be administered.

Yate United under 12's manager, Ross Michael, said:

"We have really missed working with the kids and we are delighted to play a part in rebooting normal life for our children and their families.

"It will be different, but so will many things. We cant wait to get back out on the grass."

Mum, Denise Cummins, added:

"Tom is excited to be starting training again with Yate United.

"It has been hard during the lockdown to motivate him as he lovers his football and getting him back training with his friends will definitely help."
