Yate Shopping centre is bustling again today as 60 shops have re-opened following closures in March.
The shopping centre has welcomed back retailers and customers today as guidelines have allowed all non-essential shops to re-open as lockdown eases.
Yate Shopping Centre, Manager, Andrew Lowrey said:
"Throughout lockdown all food stores, banks, pharmacies and pet shops stayed open. Today we have 60 of our stores open and more will continue to open as the weeks go on.
"We furloughed some of our care taking staff but are pleased to say, all of our staff are now back working as well.
"We are expecting the rest of our non-essential stores will re-open before July. When Boswells decide to return they will be able to use the entire quadrant for outside serving
"This morning it was wonderful to see neighbouring retailers greeting each other this morning.
"We are so pleased to see customers back, there has been a nice vibrant atmosphere today.
"Also its great that the vast majority are following our one way system and guidelines for social distancing. Hopefully this will continue."
