Scores of customers have been queueing today as Sports Direct re-opened and offered a one-day only 50% off discount for all NHS workers.
Sports Direct offered the half price discount as a thank you to NHS staff working on the frontline though out the coronavirus pandemic. The discount is only valid in-store.
NHS Staff can get a whopping 50% off their basket total, today only, upon showing their NHS identification.
Sports Direct have posted on their website to say:
"As sports returns, one team gets all our support.
"Thank you team NHS from everyone at sports direct.
"On Monday, June 15 NHS Workers gro 50% off everything in store."
Yate Shopping Centre has implemented queueing systems for most stores and a new one way system around the centre.
The new measures are to ensure the safety of its staff, retailers and customers ahead of the non-essential stores re-opening today.
Centre manager, Andrew Lowrey said he was "pleased" that most customers were adhering to the new measures.
