Jimmy Deane's Fruit and Veg have been nominated as Lockdown Local Heroes.
The team have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic, switching their market stall trade to a home delivery service, to support the community in isolation.
Jimmy's also supported the Vintage Birdcage by donating free fruit and vegetables, continually through lockdown. This service was hailed as a lifeline to the most vulnerable and elderly members of the community. Without free donations, the service could not have continued for the duration it did, and wouldn't have been able to donate over 25,000 free meals.
Of their nomination, Jim of Jimmy Deane's Fruit and Veg said:
“We are really pleased to receive a nomination for this.
"It’s lovely to be recognised for what we did to help the local community in such difficult circumstances.
"We would like to thank all of our staff for their hard work, long hours and commitment throughout the height of lockdown.
"We will be continuing our home delivery service and hope that the public will continue to support us ongoing.”
